If you are someone who has a parent in any branch of the military and you’re looking for something fun to do after school on Wednesdays, you should join LINKS 4 Teens. This is a great opportunity to learn about volunteering in the community, job resume writing skills, coping skills for deployment and transition all while engaging in icebreakers and forming new friendships! The library is holding a Scary Story and Poster contest. Prizes this year will include iTunes giftcards, Tardis Bobbleheads, or a singed copy of Allegiant by Veronica Roth among other prizes. Stop by the library for contest information...



The San Diego Better Business Bureau Foundation is accepting applications for the 2013 Torch Awards Scholarship Essay Program for one more week with a DEADLINE of Oct 25th. This program is open to all members of the graduating class of 2014 or 2015. Five cash scholarships will be awarded in the amounts of $1500, $1250, $1000, $750 and $500.
The application can be found on line or in Naviance under scholarships for the Better Business Bureau.
 

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing is open to all high school girls residing in the US.  Apply online at: https://www.aspirations.org/participate/high-school.


This Friday, the student store will once again have Subway sandwiches.  Come get a six inch turkey or ham Subway sandwich, chips and a drink for $5.00. Feel fresh, Eat Fresh.

1  The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year.  This has a deadline of Oct 31st.  Students can find the application online at Naviance.

Attention all students, National Red Ribbon Week has arrived! Club Elevated and Serra High School is honoring this week by enforcing the idea living a healthy lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol.  This Friday at lunch in front of the Media Center, sign the pledge to be drug free- if you are still have your red ribbon sticker that was given to you on Monday, you’ll have the opportunity to win a prize!



SENIORS:  UCSD will be at Serra High School on Tuesday, Oct. 29th at 8:00 in the Theater.  Passes are available in the counseling office and you must have your period 1 teacher sign the pass





SENIORS:  If you are applying to San Diego State please plan to attend a presentation by SDSU on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8:30 in the Theater.  Red passes are available in the counseling office and you must get your period 2 teacher to sign off on the pass.

 


ATTENTION ALL FRESHMEN: There will be a Freshmen Class meeting on Wednesday, October 30 at lunch in room 206. We will be discussing our first fundraiser. Bring your lunch and bring a friend. We will see you there.

Gourmet food trucks will be on campus today from 5:30 to 8pm.  These are not your average roach coaches!  They have everything from California Burritos to Lobster Bisque!  The selections are plentiful, the food is mouth watering, the price is right, and yes they take debit cards.  Check 'em out directly in front of Serra High School tonight!
