STUDENTS

REQUESTS FOR EARLY RELEASE (Blue Slips) must be submitted BEFORE 7:00a.m.on the day of release (parents may phone in PRIOR to 08:00 a.m. or send a note with your student and he/she must bring it to the Attendance Office PRIOR to 7:30 a.m.)  Requests for early release received after 8:00 a.m. on the day of release cannot be honored. WE CANNOT ISSUE BLUE SLIPS DURING FINALS, OR OTHER TESTING DAYS (CAHSEE, CSTs, etc.)  PLEASE NOTE:  We do not have office monitors and cannot deliver blue slips to the classrooms.  Students MUST pick up their Blue Slip in the Attendance Office.

Attendance Personnel CAN NOT deliver messages or items to students, however if it is an EMERGENCY (i.e. hospitalization, death in the family, deployment etc.) the attendance office staff will assist the parent as needed.

Student contracts are available if you will be absent five school days or more.  Please be sure to notify the attendance office a minimum of one week in advance of the absence and request the contracts.  This will ensure the teachers have plenty of time to prepare the school work you will need while you are out.  This will ensure that you do not have any “unexcused” absences. Going out of town is not an “excused” absence.

Class of 2014 sunglasses will be for sale today during lunch. The cost is $5.00. Proceeds will go towards funding senior activities at the end of the year.

STUDENTS

Seniors, it’s that time of the year to start looking for scholarships.  This week we’re highlighting two with application deadlines coming up in early October.  Get the details of these scholarships on Naviance.  The first is the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award with a DEADLINE of October 2^nd of 2013.  The next is the AES Engineering Scholarship with a DEADLINE of October 4^th of 2013.  Start looking in Naviance for more scholarships.

Attention seniors, If you signed up for the prom committee, be sure to meet this Thursday in room 411.  If you want to be involved in the venue visits you must be in attendance.  See you there!

Students who become ill during the school day MUST visit the Health Office for assessment.  If is determined that a student needs to go home, parents will be contacted and the Health Office staff will issue the Blue Slip. 

 

If you are transferring from Serra High School, please notify the school at least one week before the last day of attendance. At that time we will provide you with information as to what you will need for that last day.  This will ensure a smoother transition.  Thank you.
