ATTENTION SERRA SOPHOMORES:

Congratulations to the Serra High Golden Regiment Marching Band and Color Guard for their performance at the Mira Mesa Marching Band Invitational. The Serra Golden Regiment was the highest scoring competing City School Marching Band in the evening competition! Way to go!-Rea

EVERY WEDNESDAY IS COLLEGE WEAR WEDNESDAY! Show your support for a favorite college, university or one you aspire to by wearing college logo wear every Wednesday! Come by the College Center (Rm. 401) Wednesdays during lunch to be entered into a monthly drawing!

GEAR UP has college tutors to help students with math, science, English, etc. outside the GEAR UP office in the Library every Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-3:30 p.m.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!:On Wednesday, November 2nd twenty (20) extremely talented student authors from Serra High School were named semi-finalists in the Henrietta Lacks High School Essay contest based on the book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. On the stage of Shiley Theater on the campus of the University of San Diego three were named finalists...those students were Sophia Hurtado, Christina Tarazi, and Jenelle Villalon AND two were named among the top five in this county wide contest! A big congratulations goes out to Lincoln To and Eden Aklile for submitting winning essays! All students were able to attend a lecture by author Rebecca Skloot and have their books signed by the author.-Senegar

Calling all PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE Ladies of Science in the City! There will be a lunchtime meeting held in Room 700 with Dr. Senegar-Mitchell on THURSDAY, NOV. 10TH for all students who submitted an application to become a "Sister in Science". All returning members and new applicants are asked to attend this important meeting! Again, Ladies of Science in the City meeting on Thursday, NOV. 10th at lunch!-Senegar

Would you like to learn how to make your own clothes? Do you have something that needs mending? Would you like to share your skill in knitting, crochet or embroidery? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then come to a workshop called "Sew What?" after school Tuesdays in Room 406.-Klett
